Between nature, culture and traditions, Hazebrouck is a dynamic city where shopkeepers, artisans and artists live together happily.
City of shopping and leisure
Do you feel like going shopping just for fun, like other people go to an exhibit, a museum or a performance, or for a walk in the countryside? It all happens here in this city of encounters and exchanges!
Hazebrouck is the most urban and modern city in our region: go carts, bowling, swimming pool, cinema, theatre, etc. There is something for everyone here!
There is no lack of leisure activities: the city offers many sports and cultural activities throughout the year. At the Espace Flandre, in the salle culturelle ‘André Malraux’, there is room for up to 1100 people.
Hazebrouck also has the advantage of being easily accessible by train.
la Maison de l’abbé Lemire
Born in 1853, Father Lemire, elected mayor of the city, was a politically committed man. With other deputies, he defended and obtained a reduction in the working week, so that Sunday rest would apply to the different categories which did not benefit from it. He was also involved in the creation of allotments, family allowance and even in the Beguine convent in Hazebrouck. His house is open to the public, and presents most of the actions led by him.
